Bats Up, Beater!
Bludgers scream in from every edge — a chevron flashes before each one, and the whistle-glow tells you it's nearly on you. Swing to meet it at the ring. Land inside the Sweet Spot window for double points and a rocket return. Miss and you're on cooldown, so make it count. Lose all your teammates' hearts and it's an early whistle.

The Art of the Beater
Beaters are the enforcers of Quidditch — the two players armed with short, stout bats whose job is to protect their teammates from the Bludgers, a pair of heavy iron balls bewitched to hurtle around the pitch and knock fliers clean off their brooms. It is a role of timing and fearlessness: a great Beater reads a Bludger's line, meets it square, and cracks it back toward the opposition before it can do any harm.
No one embodied that gleeful chaos better than Fred and George Weasley, Gryffindor's twin Beaters, who turned defending their team into an art form of perfectly-timed swings and cheerful mayhem. Beater's Bludger Bash bottles that energy into a frantic 90-second shift: chevrons flash at the edges, the whistle-glow warns you a hit is coming, and everything comes down to whether your bat meets the Bludger at exactly the right instant. Find the Sweet Spot and you'll rocket it back for double — and if a rival Chaser happens to be in the way, all the better.
Keep all three teammates in one piece to hold your highest multiplier, chain clean contacts, and climb from Reserve Beater to Beater of Legend. Every shift earns Quidditch Career XP shared across all three Quidditch games — then take the Sorting Quiz to find out which house your Beater belongs in.
Beater's Bludger Bash — FAQ
How the Beater mini-game works and how to climb the ranks.
How do you play Beater's Bludger Bash?
Aim your orbiting bat toward each incoming Bludger with the mouse, or ←/→ or A/D, then click, tap or press Space to swing. A chevron warns you where a Bludger will enter and a whistle-glow shows it's almost on you — swing to meet it at the ring. Survive the 90-second shift and protect your teammates.
Is Beater's Bludger Bash free to play?
Yes. It runs right in your browser on desktop and mobile — no download and no sign-up. Pick a broom and start swinging.
What is the Sweet Spot?
Deflecting a Bludger anywhere in the timing window scores points, but a much tighter window — the Sweet Spot — doubles your points and rockets the Bludger straight back along your aim line. Land that rocket on a passing rival Chaser and you earn a Beater's Bullseye bonus.
Why do my teammates matter?
Your three teammates each have hearts. Every Bludger you let through costs a heart, and the more teammates get knocked out, the lower your score multiplier can climb — three alive lets you reach 5×, and if all three fall the whistle blows early. Keeping them safe is worth 100 points per surviving heart at the end.
What is a Quidditch Career?
Every completed round of Beater's Bludger Bash, Catch the Golden Snitch and Keeper's Defense earns shared Quidditch Career XP that levels up your rank — from First-Year Flyer to Legend of the Pitch — and unlocks cosmetic broom trails and badges. Sign in to save your career across devices.
Can I play with a keyboard?
Yes. Hold ←/→ or A/D to orbit your bat and press Space or Enter to swing. Press P to pause at any time.
