The Art of the Seeker

In Quidditch, the Seeker holds the most decisive role on the pitch. While Chasers trade goals and Beaters battle the Bludgers, the Seeker has a single job: catch the Golden Snitch — a walnut-sized, silver-winged ball that hovers, darts and vanishes at over 150 miles per hour. Catching it ends the match and scores 150 points, almost always deciding the game in an instant.

That is why a great Seeker is measured in reflexes and nerve rather than strength. The best — Harry Potter, Viktor Krum, Cho Chang — read the Snitch's flicker of movement a half-second before anyone else and commit to the dive without hesitation. Catch the Golden Snitch distils that pressure into sixty seconds: the Snitch never flies the same path twice, the rival Seeker is always closing, and the only thing between you and the catch is how fast you can react.

Build a combo by catching Snitches in quick succession, keep your nerve when the Bludgers come, and see whether you can climb from Reserve Seeker all the way to Snitch Master. Then take the Sorting Quiz to find out which Hogwarts house your Seeker instincts belong to.

FAQ

Catch the Golden Snitch — FAQ

How the Seeker mini-game works and how to climb the ranks.

1

How do you play Catch the Golden Snitch?

Follow the darting Golden Snitch with your cursor or the arrow keys and click, tap or press Space to catch it. You have 60 seconds to catch as many as you can. Each catch respawns the Snitch faster, and catching several in quick succession builds a combo multiplier for a higher score.

2

Is Catch the Golden Snitch free to play?

Yes. It runs right in your browser on desktop and mobile — no download and no sign-up. Just pick a broom and start chasing the Snitch.

3

Who is the rival Seeker?

The rival Seeker is an AI opponent hunting the same Snitch you are. If they reach it before you, they steal the catch and reset your combo — so the higher difficulties are as much about beating them to the Snitch as spotting it.

4

How is my score calculated?

Each Snitch you catch adds points multiplied by your current combo. Faster, cleaner catches keep the combo alive and push your score higher. Your best score is saved on your device so you can try to beat it.

5

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. Use the arrow keys to steer your Seeker and press Space or Enter to catch the Snitch, so you can play without a mouse. Press P to pause at any time.
